bakemonogatari

Tsugimonogatari (接物語) is the 24th part of the Monogatari series. The thirtieth book overall, it contains the story Yotsugi Frank (よつぎフランク). [2]

Originally, it was the supposed next novel previewed at the end of Zoku Owarimonogatari to take place in a season supposedly called Monogatari Series: Next Season. Since then, it had been largely assumed that both titles were renamed as Orokamonogatari taking place in Monogatari Series: Off Season.[3] The preview in the back of Orokamonogatari showed no mention of Tsugimonogatari, but rather teased Wazamonogatari instead.

With the release of Ikusamonogatari in 2023, Tsugimonogatari was re-announced as the second novel in Family Season. In July 2025, it was confirmed for an October 2025 release.[4]

Etymology

The title is a portmanteau of tsugi, meaning "adjoin" or "piece together", and monogatari, "story".

The character tsugi (接) also appears in Yotsugi Ononoki's given name (余接), possibly alluding that the novel will be related to her in some way. Yotsugi Frank perhaps implies a connection to Frankenstein, implying a connection to her creation as a shikigami.
